Seneca Perry (1796-1860), a boat wright turned carpenter-joiner, relocated his family from Bennington, VT to Keeseville when his son, Isaac Gale Perry, was 7. Isaac (1822-1904) attended the Keeseville Academy until age 10 when he left to apprentice with his father from 1832-1854. In New York City, Isaac apprenticed in the office of architect Thomas R.
